Untappd is expecting to have its Billionth check in in the next day or two. Once this happens, you have 72 hours to check in a beer and claim this one off badge.

As announced during the release of the GIVING badge, Untappd is now a supporter of ALES for ALS. And what better way to celebrate this than by releasing a badge?
To claim it, simply check in a beer from one of the supporting breweries. The full list is here, but it luckily includes some of the biggest names in American craft brewing, such as Boston Brewing, Bear Republic, Ballast and Sierra Nevada.

In 2020 , Untappd has retired its festive badges tied to religious holidays (Hoppy Hanukkah and Merry Brew-mas) and replaced them with one badge that celebrates, and encourages, giving in your own community.
To get it, simply check into any beer between 10 December (the start of Hanukkah) and the end of the year. The badge was remodeled in 2021 as the “Season of Giving” badge.

The end of 2020 is finally here!
The seasonal badges Hoppy Hanukkah and Merry Brew-mas have been retired this year and replaced with a new badge, GIVING.
However, there is no reason not to expect the Happy Brew Year badge to round out the year and welcome 2021 in style.
And who knows, there is still the outside chance of some new badges added before the year is up, so maybe we will have a little gift to end the year.

New for 2020, simply check in to any beer from a member of the USA’s Brewers Association between 17 and 29 November to earn this badge.
Your check in will also count towards the Cheers to Independent U.S. craft breweries badge as they’re both sponsored by the Association. A list of members can be found here.
Breweries are the essential element that makes the craft beer scene as vibrant as it is, so go out and support your favourite American brewer.

Here’s one a little different but also quite simple, simply check into three beers with the serving style of bottle between November and January 2021 to claim this new sponsored badge.
Building on 99 Bottles, this one is actually sponsored by a glass company O-I Glass, who want to fight back against the notion that cans are the way to go. Let the battle commence!

2020 is almost over! November also brings a small haul of seasonal badges.
Sadly, no Election Day badge this year, however look out for International Stout Day on Thursday the 5th and Veterans Day on the 11th.
Finally, the Beer-giving badge should be avaliable for the 26th November.

A quick update for October.
The month starts with Canadian Beer Day on 7 October.
The middle of the month sees the Untappd Anniversary badge, celebrating the founding of Untappd in 2010. This year will also see the I Remember My First Check-In badge, specifically for Untappd’s ten year anniversary.
Dutch Beer Week, originally postponed from May to October 2020, has now been cancelled, so we’ll have to wait for 2021 for the re-emergence of that one.
Finally, 31 October is Halloween, so enjoy the Witch’s Brew badge at month end.
We are still waiting for a release of new core badges as well, so get your final votes in and keep your eyes peeled for that one!

Untappd is currently running a badge design contest, so if you are a creative type I recommend you enter now! This is the second badge made available as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, separate to I Remember My First Check-In.
The badge itself is for the 10th Anniversary Party, which is scheduled to be held online on 24 October between 3PM and 6PM ET. The badge itself will only be able to be earnt between those times, so it will be one of the more exclusive badges around.

For Untappd’s 10th anniversary, a version of the Untappd Anniversary badge simply wasn’t enough. Instead, they have teamed up with DogFish Head to create a sour beer recipe that is available to other brewers and homebrewers.
Of course, accompanying this is a badge – simply check into any version of this beer between 18 October and 31 December to qualify for the badge. Find out more about the project on the official site.
