Following the new voting process, Untappd has just released a sneaky little core badge update of three brand new badges. The new additions are:
This one is both simple but also relatively hard to achieve: Check into a single beer 100 times.
It’s the same as The Usual, but supersized and without the time pressure.
Not to be confused with the normal Oktoberfest badge, this one specifically celebrates the 2021 festival.
To earn it, check into any beer brewed by one of the original Munich breweries between 18 September and 3 October 2021. The five breweries are: Paulaner Brauerei, Spaten-Franziskaner-Löwenbräu-Gruppe, Staatliches Hofbräuhaus München, Augustiner-Bräu München, and Hacker-Pschorr.
This ones a bit of an adventure and may require a bit of planning: Check in to 5 different beers consecutively from five different countries.

Check into any beer between now and 7 October 2021 with Untappd’s new Dark mode switched on to claim this badge.
This celebrates Untappd’s new 4.0 version which adds a Dark mode. To date the upgrade has been largely panned by users as many existing features have been removed. However this is designed to be one step back and two steps forward, meaning they should be returning soon to the app.
Until then, turn on dark mode, have a beer and get rewarded with this badge.
A badge to celebrate both traditional Eisbock’s and other Freeze-Distilled beers. Have 5 to claim the badge.
Eisbocks, which also count towards I’ll Be Bock, are a strong German brew that is made by slowly bringing a Doppelbock down to freezing and removing the ice as it forms on top. This reduces the water content, intensifying the flavour and strength.
The category of Freeze-Distilled beer is a catch all that covers any other style of beer that is made the same way. In theory any beer could be freeze distilled to intensify the flavours, however the process also intensifies faults which might otherwise be undetectable.

Untappd finally has a badge for the Stout’s answer to a Hazy IPA, the Pastry Stout. Simply check into 5 Pastry Stouts (or Imperial/Double Pastry Stouts) to claim the badge.
And of course, those beers will also count for the Heavy Weight and Beyond a Shadow of a Stout badges as well, so you are definitely winning by seeking out a Pastry Stout.
A Stout that is brewed to be intentionally sweet, the “style” has allowed craft brewers to be creative with almost any flavour under the sun being fair game. The best pastry stouts can include anything from the obvious (like chocolate) to the slightly more challenging (marshmallow or mint) to the absurd, and everything in between.
This is Untappd’s venue badge for Parks and it exatcly does what it says on the tin. Simply check into five beers at different venues categorised as Parks to earn the badge.
