The second Ales for ALS badge to be released by Untappd, Drink to Ales for ALS is practically identical to the first one. Simply check in one beer from any of the supporting breweries between 19 May and 19 June 2021.
The full list is here, but it luckily includes some of the biggest names in American craft brewing, such as the Boston Beer Company, Bear Republic, New Belgium Brewing and Founders.
Well they say good things come in threes, so here’s a third badge in many days: International Dance Day!
The Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute decided to celebrate the day on April 29 to honour the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, who is known as the creator of modern ballet. The day aims to bring people together with a common language- dance.
You can celebrate another common language, beer, by checking into one between 29 April and 2 May.
To celebrate Untappd’s version of the Kentucky Derby, they have also released a new badge. It is available from 29 April until 1 May, the date of the running of the actual Derby.
To get it, you simply need to check into a beer from one of the following styles: Farmhouse Ale – Saison, Pale Ale, Stout, Sour, Lager, Belgian, Pilsner, Porter or Wheat.
Celebrating the Dutch national holiday of Koningsdag, or King’s Day, check into any beer from the Netherlands between 27 April (the actual day) and 3 May to receive this sponsored badge.
You could reach for a Heineken or Groschl (Asahi) to claim this one, or you could try one of the many craft breweries from the Netherlands, such as Brouwerij ‘t IJ or Oedipus Brewing. You could even go for a Trappist, with both La Trappe and Zundert hailing from the Netherlands.
Untappd is expecting to have its Billionth check in in the next day or two. Once this happens, you have 72 hours to check in a beer and claim this one off badge.

In 2020 , Untappd has retired its festive badges tied to religious holidays (Hoppy Hanukkah and Merry Brew-mas) and replaced them with one badge that celebrates, and encourages, giving in your own community.
To get it, simply check into any beer between 10 December (the start of Hanukkah) and the end of the year. The badge was remodeled in 2021 as the “Season of Giving” badge.
The end of 2020 is finally here!
The seasonal badges Hoppy Hanukkah and Merry Brew-mas have been retired this year and replaced with a new badge, GIVING.
However, there is no reason not to expect the Happy Brew Year badge to round out the year and welcome 2021 in style.
And who knows, there is still the outside chance of some new badges added before the year is up, so maybe we will have a little gift to end the year.
New for 2020, simply check in to any beer from a member of the USA’s Brewers Association between 17 and 29 November to earn this badge.
Your check in will also count towards the Cheers to Independent U.S. craft breweries badge as they’re both sponsored by the Association. A list of members can be found here.
