Insiders is Untappd’s renamed Supporter programme, where you can pay a monthly or annual fee to unlock a few additional features on the app. As a result, the Insiders badge replaces the Untappd Supporter badge.
Untappd have also promised to release a few badges that are exclusive to Insiders. The first one is called “Super Style: American IPA” and it levels up every 5 beers from the style of American IPA you check in.
National Homebrew Day was on 7 May and Untappd have released a badge to celebrate. Check into any homebrew between now and the 9 May to claim the badge.
Every two homebrews is also a new level of the Home Brewed Goodness badge, so you might as well have a second.
Check into any Bock beer between 18 and 21 March to earn the National Bock Beer Day badge. This is an American event, celebrated on the 20 March.
A Bock is a style of strong, malty lager that originated in Germany. Recognised sub-styles on Untappd include Doppelbock, Eisbock, Hell/Maibock/Lentebock, Single/Traditional, Weizenbock and Weizendoppelbock – so hunt one down and join in the celebrations.
2021 is almost over! November also brings a small haul of seasonal badges.
International Stout Day fell on Thursday the 4th this year but the badge has been extended due to technical issues. Veterans Day survived the cull last year, so look out next week to see if it makes a return on the 11th.
The Small Brewery Sunday badge is available all month long, so look out for some American craft to claim it.
Finally, check into any beer between the 5th and 10th to claim the Next Exit badge, promoting the launch of Untappd’s latest You Tube video series.
Not to be confused with the normal Oktoberfest badge, this one specifically celebrates the 2021 festival.
To earn it, check into any beer brewed by one of the original Munich breweries between 18 September and 3 October 2021. The five breweries are: Paulaner Brauerei, Spaten-Franziskaner-Löwenbräu-Gruppe, Staatliches Hofbräuhaus München, Augustiner-Bräu München, and Hacker-Pschorr.
Check into any beer between now and 7 October 2021 with Untappd’s new Dark mode switched on to claim this badge.
This celebrates Untappd’s new 4.0 version which adds a Dark mode. To date the upgrade has been largely panned by users as many existing features have been removed. However this is designed to be one step back and two steps forward, meaning they should be returning soon to the app.
Until then, turn on dark mode, have a beer and get rewarded with this badge.
The latest in a string of badges from the American Brewers Association, check into any beer from an American independent craft brewery between 28 June and 5 July to earn this badge.
The actual day in question is 3 July, and celebrates preparations for American Independence Day. If you are American, follow this link to find local breweries near you.
To claim this badge, check into any beer from a smallish American brewery (one listed as a Regional, Micro, Nano Brewery or Brew Pub) between 14 and 30 June 2021.

A fun new addition to the annual celebration badges. Check into any beer on International Axe Throwing Day (13 June) to claim this badge.
Created by the World Axe Throwing league in 2017, Untappd added this badge in 2021. 13 June also happens to be National Sewing Machine Day.
Check into two beers from participating American breweries between 1 June and 31 August 2021. The full list is on the blog and includes some big names such as the Boston Brewing Company, Oskar Blues, Green Flash and Stone.
This badge celebrates the work done by the American Brewers Association Craft Beer Export Development program. They recently had some major success at the 2021 Australian International Beer Awards where American craft brewers won 112 awards, including 19 gold and 2 major trophies.
